Dear Pre-School Class: Gondolas, Treasure and Bears

My dad’s took me off on another adventure this time to Liechtenstein, an actual kingdom, yet we first had to drive through Switzerland.

View from the car ferry on Lake Constance

We took a car ferry across Lake Constance on the way. You could see the Alps as you crossed the lake.

Glockenspiel in Bern

Next stop was Bern where we were visiting my dad’s cousins who live in Europe. Here you can see a Glockenspiel performance.

Bears in Bern

Best of all, they have bears that live along the river.

You can even take a funicular, sort of an outdoor elevator that goes at a slant, to the bottom for a better view.

Then we headed through the mountains going through these really long tunnels, it was dark during the day.

Castle where the crown prince of Liechtenstein lives.

Our hotel in Liechtenstein was not far from the castle where the prince lives. It is one of Europe’s little countries and still has a monarchy that rules it.

The castle in Feldkirch– it has a tunnel below it that you drive through– this felt very European!

From Liechtenstein we took a bus to Feldkirch, Austria. I’ve never entered another country this way. Here we toured a medieval castle and walked the ramparts. Yet, that was not all my dad had planned.

Taking the cable car.

We took a train from Feldkirch to Bregenz where you take a gondola to the top of the mountain above the town. Here there was a wildlife park with artic wolves, deer and even warthogs. You even played on a playground with mountain views all around.

We returned to Liechtenstein where we went to the treasury and saw crowns and jewels of the prince’s collection.

Up in the mountains

We also went up into the mountains and played in the snow again. We will be here a few days before heading to Zurich.
