Dear Pre-School Class: Seeing Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest

We took a trip to see Vienna with its Gothic churches, Budapest, ‘the Paris of the East’ and Bratislava with its futuristic bridge and medieval old town.

Karlskirche from the front.

First we went to Vienna and saw the Karlskirche.

Inside Karlskirche with the orbs and scaffolding for the elevator to the top.

They had these huge mirror balls hanging from the top. You could see the whole church and yourself reflected in the balls. We also took an elevator way up on the inside where you could look closely at the painted ceilings. It was fun.

Vienna from the south tower.

Then I went with my dad up 343 stairs of the south tower of St. Stephen’s Cathedral and we saw of the red clad buildings and Vienna skyline along with the church itself.

Michael’s Gate

The next day we headed to Bratislava, Slovakia. We walked into the old part of the city through a 13th century gate.

Manhole man.

The city was filled with statues even some that were fun such as a man coming out of manhole and even a dragon.

Communist-Era UFO bridge

We ended the day here by going up the UFO tower on the bridge. You take this elevator and you can see all the way into Austria.

The last city we went to was Budapest.

Up the funicular.

Here you took a funicular to their art museum.

Budapest with the chain bridge and the Parliament Building in the distance.

We walked around the top seeing the huge chain bridge below.

Inside the cave church.

We went to a church that was in a cave and I looked for bats, but didn’t see any.

They spoke a really different language from German and I could tell the difference.

After this city, we took a long train ride back to Munich for more adventures.
