See a Star Trek Enterprise, a Star Wars Tie-fighter, or green bulbed dragon, these are just some of the many light displays in East Peoria, Il.
The drive-through light display starts just after Thanksgiving.
We always arrive early, around 5 p.m., because it can be very busy during the holidays.
Unlike many other lighted displays, this one is made up of floats from the parade so they are larger than you might see normally.
The large displays included a wagon with horses, a train engine with cars and a caboose, a space shuttle, riverboat, whales, a Batmobile, dinosaurs, and many others.
It is worth checking out if you ever find yourself in Peoria around Christmas!

Dinner Burger Barge
After seeing the lights, we headed for the Burger Barge.
This was a fun place with a Santa that was ready to surf. The burgers were savory, the fries crispy, the onion rings crunchy and the beer cheap.
It is right on Peoria Lake with views across the water of the Peoria skyline.
The restaurant had a lively and fun atmosphere and we enjoyed a relaxed.
Caterpillar Visitors Center
If you are into heavy equipment checkout the Caterpillar Visitors Center. We didn’t have time to see the museum. We did checkout the gift shop which was chock full of toy excavators, bulldozers, caps and other knick-knacks.
