Hike Leads to Unique Playground at Brookmount Park

Bellemeade Trail winds through the woods and leads to a one-of-a-kind small-town playground at Brookmount Park in St. Peters.

This 1 mile out and back walk on a paved trail connects Tot Lot Park to Brookmount Park.

Parking at Tot Lot Park

Tot Lot Park

I parked in a small lot near Mexico Road. Most of the park is occupied by a playground enclosed by a fence.

The playground has a boardwalk, slides, and swings and is geared towards young kids or tots. Four covered picnic tables are lined up in front of the playground for children’s breaks and lunches.

Start of the Walk

The trail starts to the right of the playground area, behind the restrooms. First, I walked past a basketball court for older kids.

Woods are to the left, and backyards and fields are to the right.

Next, I arrived at Cashmere Lane, and the trail continued across the road at a slight angle to the left.

Then, I arrived at Brookmount Park, which is designed with a small-town theme. The play structures represent a fire station, a house, a restaurant, and a gas station.

Kids can bring toys or bikes and ride along Tike Way and Tike Circle.

Also, you will find swings and ride-on toys shaped like a police car and motorcycles.

After the Park

I continued along the trail and then turned left to follow the trail to Julie Lane where it ends.

Instead of Tot Lot Park, you could also start the walk from Brookmount Park.

Then, I turned around and headed back toward Brookmont Park. At the front of this park are parking, and you can start the trail from here.

Now, I headed once more through the neighborhoods to Tot Lot Park.

Final Thoughts

The hike is a mostly flat walk that connects two parks and is suitable for strollers. This path provides a nice break from shopping along Mid Rivers Mall Drive. It is especially good for toddlers, with two different parks to choose from geared towards them.
