Walk around two lakes – even one with waterfalls, baseball and soccer fields, and a large splash pad at O’Fallon Family Sports Park.
We walked 1.7 miles on paved trails to check out this 200-acre park in O’Fallon, Ill.

The Blacktop Outer Trail
I walked a paved trail with my son who rode his dirt bike around the park.
We started our adventure near the Becky Henry Pavilion by a lake with a circulating waterfall that goes through rocks and shrubs. Nearby was a large playground. ( Main Blog Photo)

Next, we headed to the right along the blacktop trail through some trees and then ended up near another pond.

In the water were some Canadian geese. We watched as the blue heron entered near the shoreline hoping to snag a small fish.

The trail followed along Venita Drive and then crossed O’Fallon Sports Park Road.

Cement Inside Trail
After this intersection, we turned off the blacktop trail to a cement trail that first went through a parking lot and then a soccer field.

We kept following the O’Fallon Sports Park Road as it passed a large splash pad with lots of fountains. When my son was little we would spend time here as he splashed in the water and the created creeks. Two playgrounds are also here along with picnic tables and a large shelter.

Then we made a left down a cement path that goes directly between all the baseball fields and ends at a large shelter area.

Going around a circle drive on the left, we ended up at the lake with the waterfall once more.

Final Thoughts
Andrew enjoyed watching the soccer and baseball around us and then stopping to check out the waterfall. It is a very open area so make sure to bring sunscreen. If you want cool down you might splash around in the fountains.
Complete Walk
If you walked the full loop around the outer area of the park it is a 2.2-mile hike. I might do this next time I am here.
