You can have fun with the kids at a large playground or take a short walk at City Hall Park in Dardenne, Prairie, Mo.
Playground
Before starting the walk, my son enjoyed the playground. The larger one is for 6-12-year-olds and includes a tower with several slides coming out of it and a climbing wall along it.
By the tower is a rope ladder with brown and yellow barbell-like structures on which to climb.
On the right is a metal climbing structure with more rope swings.
Then there’s another area with some plastic rocks to climb around, two of which have ropes attached. Nearby, there are swings.
A second, smaller playground is designated for younger kids. It features a boardwalk with stairs, slides, and bear-shaped structures.
At the front is a spray area for the kids in summer.
By Concession Stand
Next, I went by the concession stand, which was closed. There are also restrooms located here.
The Walk
Then, from the concession stand, I headed to the left on the trail that leads to the baseball field.
I passed by pickleball courts before reaching a large patio next to the baseball field, which featured a statue of a kid up to bat.
Then, I headed downstairs to a green-roofed gazebo that appeared to be surrounded by water in the summer months.
Finally, I finished this loop walk back by the parking and playground area.
Final Thoughts
The walk was .5 miles with only 7 feet of elevation gain. This is a nice short walk and a fun place if you have your child with you for time on the playground. It is stroller-friendly. It would be nice to be here when the concession stand is open for snacks and food for the kid.
