Walk along a paved path bordering Dardenne Creek at the 20-acre Sports Center Park near the Mid Rivers Mall in St. Peters, MO.
Overview
This hike is .6 miles on a paved surface with 3 feet of elevation gain.
The Path
I parked in the large lot facing a baseball field.
I walked to the front of the lot, where the pathway began. Then, I turned left along the baseball field.
The trail curved into the trees, while a lower trail on the right led to the restrooms.
The trail heads west towards Dardenne Creek. It then turns north along the creek. Looking to the left, you can see the creek through the trees.
The trail continues to curve before heading southeast. At the back of the fields, I discovered the trail was wet. I stepped off it and walked in the grass until it was dry again.
I came to an opening in the woods. It looked like a bridge had once crossed at this point. I think the remains of it lie the creek bank.
The trail continues following the creek and then comes to a parking lot.
Road Walk
The trail ends at a parking lot. I continue through the parking lot, which leads to a park road. This road does not seem busy so that you can complete the loop without issues.
Then, I was back at the main lot.
