Tiemeyer Park Walk

The 41-acre Tiemeyer Park in St. Ann, Missouri, features a lake with a boardwalk and a one-mile paved trail for exploration.

This one-mile walk with 69 feet elevation gain includes two loops with an out and short out and back section between them. If you explore the lake area on side trails, the length is more than one mile.

Before Starting the Walk

I parked near the roller hockey rink. We first stopped at the playground where my son wanted to play for a bit.

First playground we came to in the park.

This playground has slides, tunnels, bouncing steps, a balance beam, stepping stones, and climbing bars.

Beginning the Hike

Next, we headed out on the trail. Our first wildlife to see was Canadian geese near the trail.

By the Lake

We headed off the asphalt main trail to spend time exploring the lake on cement paths around it. We searched the shoreline for turtles and fish.

“I see tadpoles and ducks,” my son said as he went near the water.

After the lake we headed from the first loop and across the park road towards another playground. At the start of the second loop we went to the left. Up the hill from the path is the playground.

Second Playground

My son enjoyed the rope ladder, the red, blue, and yellow climbing structure, and the logs and stepping stones to cross at this playground. Also, there was a structure with slides, a bridge, and lookouts.

Then after the playground we walked the trail around by a large shelter to the right. A nearby is an aquatic center currently being redeveloped. Next we headed back to the park road and to the right after crossing it and coming to a cannon.

Final Thoughts

This is a short, enjoyable hike for children, featuring two playgrounds and a lake with a boardwalk. It is not a large park so even if you go off on different paths you can find your way back to the main trail.
